The Senate closed the University with effect from Monday 16th March 2020 as per the Presidential directive due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, the Senate approved mainstreaming of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in conducting university business through virtual/online-based teaching, learning, and examinations. This is the basis of the proposal to conduct online Elections of Deans.
The purpose of conducting the online election of Deans is to ensure Faculties and Schools elect and replace Deans when their terms expire and usher in new leadership despite the Covid 19 pandemic. The online voting will take place from 8.00 am to 6.00 am. The Director, ICT shall oversee the adoption and use of technology in the electoral.
